Griffiths Drilling in New Zealand
Griffiths Drilling keeps a strong link with its past, and also has a keen and critical eye on the future. This way we have solid business foundations behind us and can go forward no matter where the drilling industry in New Zealand heads.
Our strong business principles were established by Gordon Griffiths, and all our daily operations continue under them today. We constantly strive to improve our service and efficiency, that’s why Griffiths Drilling has added 2 business service divisions to stand alongside our Geotechnical Drilling – these are Geoscience and Hydrology operations.
We are confident that this structure, with our people, experience and modern equipment will continue to deliver top quality results for our clients all over New Zealand.

HERE’S WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY ABOUT US
"...good people who take pride in their work and consistently go the extra mile when needed..."
I have known Mel Griffiths and his team for a decade now and am constantly impressed with their positive can-do attitude and approach to their work. Mel has surrounded himself with good people who take pride in their work and consistently go the extra mile when needed which is always appreciated. Finally, it is positive to see Griffiths investing in quality new equipment, keeping up to date with testing technology and supporting their local community – I would not hesitate to recommend them.
"... always available to help solve investigation challenges."
I have known and worked with Griffiths Drilling for over 25 years, initially with Gordon Griffiths and then Melvyn Griffiths. It is great to see Mel progress from being a competent driller under his father’s tutelage, to build a successful company that has been recognised by the local community. He is always available to help solve investigation challenges. We are fortunate that Griffiths Drilling has been able to invest in some smart new equipment, which is helping them deliver our investigation projects to a higher quality, more quickly and more reliably. Mel understands the ground and the drilling conditions in Wellington well, and he has a can do attitude, which he has applied to getting projects done in the most trying conditions. I would like to congratulate Melvyn Griffiths on the induction of Griffiths Drilling to the Wellington Regional Business Hall of Fame. This is a this well-deserved recognition. This is no surprise given that Griffiths Drilling have been involved in investigating the ground for most major to small projects in the Wellington Region for over quarter of a century. Most importantly, this has helped us assure a solid foundation for our infrastructure and build environment.
